“Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives - choice, not chance, determines your destiny.” ― Aristotle”

The Equestrians Club by Equestrians Excellence Llc

The Equestrians Clubs were created in an effort to keep the costs of horseback riding as affordable as possible, without compromising our horse's well-being or the ability to retain talented trainers.

Horse & Tack (equipment) Care

1) Horse welfare is the top priority, next to riders' safety.

You take care of your horse as soon as you are done riding, this means you tend to your horse before you tend to your own needs. (Obviously debris there are occasional emergency exceptions)

2) Horses may not be put away hot or sweaty- if you are pressed for time you may ask your instructor for aftercare grooming ($25/grooming occurrence).  Horses should not have sweat marks on them.

3) Horses should be put away, in their stalls with their required stall wear gear (blankets/fly-sheets/ fly-masks/ standing wraps/etc.as required, depending on the season) Ask your instructor if you are unsure.

  • Halters hung on stall gates with lead ropes tied around them.
  • Latches should be latched and chains wrapped with the clips done.
  • Check their automatic waterer has water and is free of debris (hay or anything floating on the water).

4) All tack and equipment used must be put away clean and neatly in its place:

  • Bridles- leather cleaned and wiped free of sweat and hair, bits rinsed and wiped off and hung properly (figure eight configuration) on the proper bridle rack.
  •  Leather saddle and girths- girths should be detached from the saddle, both wiped have sweat and hair wiped off - cleaned with saddle soap and/or leather wax with a damp sponge.
  • Saddle stirrups should have the iron run up and have a protective saddle cover put back on and put away on its proper saddle rack. with the front of the saddle facing the wall.
  • Saddle pads should be detached from the saddle- saddle pads should be left to be hung upside down on top of the used saddle pad pile. Protective gel pads, foam pads, wither pads, etc., should be put back in the protective pad pile.
  • Protective horse boots (tendon, splint, bell, sports medicine, open front, brush boots, etc.) and polo wraps should have excess hair & sweat wiped off, and wraps should be properly rewrapped (velcro to velcro) let your instructor know if they need to be washed and then may be placed in the laundry bag.
  • All grooming supplies (brushes, grooming cloths, sponges, curry combs, shedding blades, bristle brushes, combs, etc.) should be cleaned of hair and dirt before putting them away in their bag/bucket and returned to the tack room.
  • All equipment must be returned to the appropriate tack room and placed back its its spot. There will be a $2. fee for every piece of equipment left out. After 5 pieces of equipment are left out the fees will increase to $4 per occurrence. (Equipment is ridiculously expensive, please take care of it.)

5) Pick up any manure from the common areas (roads, walkways, and arenas) that your horse may have left. Manure forks and wheelbarrows used to clean should be placed back by the arena fence where found and manure forks returned to the grain room.
